About Us

Melanie Rush and Jay Weissman are avid photographers and created Weissman - Rush Photography to captivate your moments and make them last a life time. After all, you outta be in pictures! Melanie received her Bachelors of Arts with an emphasis in photography and studio art from the Humboldt University. Jay has worked as the photo editor of The Pioneer Newspaper for a year, she picked up photography as a hobby at a young age when her father gave her his 68' Pentax 35mm.

Weissman & Rush conducts their digital photography business in the Los Angeles area and in the East Bay, and are available to photograph baby, child, and family portraits as well as weddings and other special events. Weissman & Rush's style of photography is documentary, with an unobtrusive and relaxed approach to capture the personality of their subjects in the photographs that represent them.

Service and Pricing

Our digital photography business is centered in Los Angeles and The East Bay. We are available to photograph your Pregnancy, Baby and your family essence as well as weddings or any other special occassion.

We work exclusively in digital format, allowing for continuous shooting of your child/family. Our style is suited for black and white photography, all proofs are available in your choice of color and or black and white. We can also photograph with 35mm per your request*.

Your photo shoot will take place at your home or at a public, outdoor location you desire. Our goal is to document a moment in time of your child/family in the most natural way. Our approach is to shoot continuously, capturing the personality of your child/family and the spontaneity of everyday life. We can also pose you if you like. We think it is best to schedule your session during the time of day when your home receives the greatest amount of natural light.
